The Deck

  • 2008-08-23 This week tore out the support beams and dug them down 48 inches, dropped in rebar, poured cement for new footers. Re-installed the support posts and poured more concrete. Had to jack up the porch so that it was level to the ground. Need to let the cement cure for about a month then the extra supports can be removed.

The Porch

  • 2008-09-06 Jeannie decided to put both poles in under the porch eventhough it will block the window slighly. We paid for the pole aleady and it will balance the structure out better
  • 2008-09-04 We decided to push the porh roof out another 6 inches so the support pole is more centered. The rubber roof was added today
  • 2008-08-27 took out the old poles and the roof. The poles were plastic and not very supportive. The roof was not attached to the house and water had been running down for years. Still wet afer all these weeks of no rain. Tied the porch roof to the house and installed one column. Looks quite nice.

  • Estimated time of project: 6-8 weeks
    • Actual 15 weeks
